Church Leadership
General Overseer
Bishop Peter Gatimu is the General Overseer of Apostolic Faith Church Kenya and Nairobi Region Overseer.
He experienced God’s calling as His Apostle in early 80’s and was ordained on 10th May 1985. He assisted many Pastors in establishing growing churches. Bishop Peter Gatimu has an Apostolic calling especially in powerful and effective Church planting work. He is endowed with powerful evangelism “force” with Apostolic auction and zeal for the Church of Christ.
Since 1986, he has established Nairobi Region of Apostolic Faith Church, where he is the Regional Overseer. The Region has 32 branches. He also established Bahati Assembly in Nairobi (near the City Center) with about 3,000 members and powerful vision in church planting. Bishop Gatimu has also reached out to other parts of Kenya and beyond the country boarders (raising Pastors and planting Churches).. Recently he opened a new branch Apostolic Faith in Lakewood, WA USA built on a TWO & HALF ACRES.
At Bahati, he is currently leading the Church in construction of a Multi-storey Church Complex coupled with a vision of a 10,000 seater Church, which will be a ‘springboard’ to “overtaking” cities and countries with Gospel impact. The Holy Spirit of the “3,000” on Pentecostal day (Acts 2) is real even now.
He is dreaming and planning to actualize Church growth in Apostolic Faith Church Kenya from 400 assemblies to 1,600 assemblies in the next TEN YEARS. The HOLY SPIRIT says “YES” to that!
Bishop Gatimu is a sound Bible teacher and writer. He believes in effective program of establishing church members, families, Gospel ministers and Church leadership structures. His heart yearns for Gospel preaching that ‘truly wins” in powerfully tangible way.
~1999 – 2002: He was the Assistant General Secretary of Apostolic Faith Church
~2002 – 2009: He was the General Secretary of Apostolic Faith Church
~2010 – to date: He is the General Overseer of Apostolic Faith Church
