Bishop James Maina Gatere is the General Treasurer of Apostolic Faith Church Kenya. He is also the Regional Overseer of Naivasha Region, Parish minister of Gilgil Parish and Senior Pastor of Elementaita (Nyama Choma) Assembly.
Bishop James Maina Gatere started working with Apostolic Faith Church as a Secretary of the board in Langa Langa Assembly. Due to his faithfulness to the Lord, he was appointed as an elder of the same Assembly. Later he was posted to Elementaita Assembly as the Senior Pastor in 1989. He has been actively involved in the development of Gilgil Parish and Naivasha Region as a whole under Bishop David Mungai.
In the year 2013, he was elected to the position of Naivasha Region Treasurer and re-elected again in 2017 in the same position. In 2022, he became the Regional Overseer of Naivasha Region. In 2017, was also elected as the National General Treasurer a position he holds todate.
Education Background
Bishop James Maina Gatere finished primary level in 1973, and O-level in 1977. He completed his training course in Polythene Technology as a technician/machine Operator in 1980. In 1985/86, he also undertook a course in Building. Rev James Maina Gatere, is also a graduate of Auckland Park Theological Seminary (ATS) through Njoro Bible College with Bachelor of Theology degree in 2018.
Personal Background
Bishop James Maina Gatere is married to Mrs. Loise Njoki Maina and they are blessed with five children: three sons, two daughters.
